Neuroanatomy of Obsessive Compulsive Symptom
±ÇÁؼö/Jun Soo Kwon
Abstract
Evidences supporting biological hypothesis of obsessive-compulsive disorder are being
accumulated and functional and structural abnormalities in orbitofrontal cortex and basal
ganglia have been repeatedly reported in obsessive-compulsive patients. By reviewing
current imaging and neurocognitive function studies we suggest that these functional
changes are state-dependent and cortico-striatal abnormality is highly suspected in
subjects of obsessive-compulsive disorder.
